I'm Bored and Fat

That title pretty much sums 'er up. I feel like a big, tired blob who does nothing. Sundays are the worst. I can't muster the energy to shower or get dressed, so I spend my day in crappy sweats, hoping no one comes to the door and sees me in my greasy-faced, lank-haired, stained sweatshirt glory. I think I slept at least half of the day yesterday. I am a slug.

Does every woman this close to her due date feel like such a sloth? I don't think I've gotten overly big (compared to some belly pictures I've seen on the Internet--YIKES!), yet I feel so ungainly, awkward and icky. I am sick of every single piece of maternity clothing I own. If I never again wear a pair of stretchy gauchos after this pregnancy, it will be too soon. I am down to one bra because I inexplicably broke my other one while I was putting it on the other day. The one remaining has something inherently wrong with it that causes it to jump about mid-boob every time I move. Yet my pride will not let me go spend money on a piece of clothing that very likely won't fit in a few weeks.

And the fatigue! Where did this come from? I didn't get that tired in the first trimester, but I think that's just because the Pregnancy Gods felt so sorry for me and my morning sickness that they gave me a pass on that one. Well, they're making up for it now. I could nap at any time, day or night, and I REALLY want to. All the time.

But enough of my bitching! I am almost done with this pregnancy and will have a baby soon!! I mean, technically, I will be full term in only 2 1/2 weeks. 2 1/2 weeks, people!!!

So you may be wondering how my book reading extravaganza is coming? Okay, you're probably not wondering, but I feel I should do an update anyway. I have read nine books since I set the goal of reading 25 before I give birth. Obviously, I'm not going to hit my goal. But I've read some good ones. I think the last one I mentioned was Bel Canto by Ann Patchett (VERY good). Since then, I've read The Keeper by Sarah Langan (weird horror-type book--don't bother), Broken for You (I can't remember the author, but this book is worth reading: funny and said), The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen (very good) and The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde (I highly recommend these Nursery Crimes book--the author is a genius).

So there's my Pregnancy Bitching and my book update. Now I am going to cozy up with the four magazines I got in the mail today (why do they always come at the same time??) and watch me some good television.

my sis had a baby less than 5 months ago and i remember her being VERY tired. it's understandable! you're carrying an entire extra person in there! you need all that rest and "slothiness" because once that baby is here, sleep will be just something you used to do when you had the time.

i know it's hard to enjoy it while you can but try. And you're not fat, you're HAVING A BABY. you're beautiful! :)
